By using our website or making a booking with us, you’re agreeing to what’s below.
Who we are
GRETA is Canada’s premier arcade bar — serving craft cocktails, globally-inspired street food, and 50+ arcade games across locations in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Toronto. When we say “GRETA,” “we,” “us,” or “our” throughout these Terms, that’s who we mean.
These Terms apply to your use of gretabar.com and any bookings made through it. They are governed by the laws of the province in which your booking takes place, and Canadian federal law where applicable.
Using our website
Our website exists so you can find us, explore what we’re up to, and book your next visit. Here’s the short list of what we ask you not to do:
- Scrape, copy, or reproduce our content without permission
- Attempt to access backend systems or disrupt how the site functions
- Submit false information through any of our forms or booking flows
- Use the site in any way that’s unlawful or that impersonates someone else
GRETA reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the website, without notice, for any user who violates these Terms or engages in conduct that is unlawful, abusive, or otherwise harmful to the site or its users.
Bookings — large groups & corporate events
GRETA offers group bookings and corporate event packages across all locations. When you submit a booking request through our website, you’re initiating an agreement for use of our space and/or services on the date(s) specified. Bookings are subject to availability and are not confirmed until you receive written confirmation from our team.
By submitting a booking request, you confirm that:
- All information provided is accurate and complete
- You are authorized to enter into this agreement on behalf of your group or organization, if applicable
- You have read and understood any event-specific terms communicated at the time of booking
All booking details — including capacity, timing, food and drink packages, and inclusions — are confirmed in writing before your event. If anything changes on our end, you’ll hear from us first.
GRETA reserves the right to decline bookings at our discretion. Events that conflict with our values, our licensing conditions, or the safety and comfort of our guests and staff will not be accepted.
Payments, cancellations & refunds
Payment terms and deposit requirements are outlined at the time of booking and vary based on event type and group size.
Cancellations by you:
GRETA’s cancellation policies may vary by location. As a general rule: we ask that you provide us with as much notice as possible if you need to cancel your booking in order to avoid any penalties. Please refer to the full terms outlined in your booking confirmation for details.
Cancellations by us:
In the unlikely event we have to cancel your booking— due to circumstances outside our control, health and safety concerns, or otherwise — we’ll contact you immediately and work with you on a refund or rescheduling your booking at another date.
All prices are in Canadian dollars and subject to applicable federal and provincial taxes.
Age of majority & licensed venue rules
GRETA is a licensed venue. You must be of legal drinking age in your province to enter establishments and/or attend events where alcohol is served. By booking or attending an event at GRETA, you confirm you meet this requirement — or that your event has been arranged in accordance with applicable liquor licensing conditions.
We reserve the right to request valid government-issued ID at any point, for any guest. No valid ID, no entry. No exceptions.
GRETA operates in full compliance with provincial liquor regulations. Any behaviour that jeopardizes our licensing — including attempting to provide alcohol to minors — will result in removal from the venue and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
Please note minors are not allowed in GRETA, unless specifically approved. Please speak with your event manager for more details.
Arcade games & game cards
Our arcade games are available to guests via reloadable game cards, purchased in-venue. Game card balances are non-refundable and non-transferable. Lost or stolen cards are the responsibility of the guest.
Games are provided for entertainment purposes and are subject to availability. GRETA is not responsible for interrupted gameplay due to technical issues, and we will let you know when or if games become unavailable.
Game cards purchased as part of a group or corporate booking package are subject to the terms outlined in your booking confirmation.
Your content & conduct
If you submit any content to us — through a booking form, inquiry, or otherwise — you confirm that you own this content or have the right to share it, and that it doesn’t infringe on anyone else’s rights.
At all GRETA locations, guests are expected to treat our space, our staff, and each other with respect. We maintain the right to remove anyone from our venue for behaviour that is unsafe, harassing, or disruptive — with or without a refund, depending on the circumstances. Decisions made by our staff on-site are final.
Intellectual property
Everything on gretabar.com — the GRETA name and logo, our copy, photography, menu design, and all other creative content — is owned by or licensed to GRETA. You’re welcome to share our content on social media (tag us based on our location!), but reproducing it for commercial purposes without written permission is not permitted.
If you’re unsure whether a specific use is appropriate, reach out before you proceed, either directly on social media or by email at info@gretabar.com
Liability
We do our best to keep our website accurate and up to date, but we can’t guarantee it’s error-free at all times. GRETA is not liable for losses resulting from reliance on information found on our site.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GRETA is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website or attendance at our venues. Our liability in any booking-related claim is capped at the amount you paid for that booking.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any loss or damage that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Canadian law.
Changes to these terms
These Terms will be updated as needed, based on business changes or due to law requirements. You’ll see this reflected in the date at the top under ‘last updated’.
Continued use of the website after an update means you accept the revised Terms. For significant changes, we’ll flag them somewhere prominent on the website.
